Eligibility Criteria Australian Government Scholarship 2026: First, applicants must be enrolled at an eligible Australian university to be eligible for the Australian Government RTP 2026. Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program at a participating university. Moreover, applicants must also fulfill the eligibility criteria of the participating university to which they are applying. International applicants must provide evidence of having the minimum English language proficiency requirements for applying for the RTP scholarship. Applicants for the Australian Government Research Training Program Stipend must not receive an equivalent award, scholarship, or salary to undertake the proposed degree (equivalent being greater than 75% of the base stipend). Furthermore, international applicants are required to pay any visa application fees and requirements for the Australian scholarship. It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that they hold a valid visa while in Australia. Finally, applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for the Research Training Program RTP listed in the Commonwealth Scholarships Guidelines (Research).

Benefits of the Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarships (RTPS) 2026: First, international Students will receive a stipend of 52,352 at max annually. Moreover, all international students receiving the Australian Research Scholarships will have their tuition fees waived for the standard duration of the RTP scholarship at any of the participating universities. The Australia Research Scholarship will also provide RTP allowances to help students with the ancillary costs of an HDR (higher degree by research).
