Funke Akindele is a Nigerian actress, producer, and screenwriter. She was born on August 24, 1977, in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria. Akindele is one of the most popular and successful actresses in Nigeria's film industry, also known as Nollywood.
Akindele gained popularity in 2009 for her role as Jenifa in the movie "Jenifa". The film won her the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2009. Funke Akindele, also known as Funke Akindele-Bello, is a Nigerian actress, producer, and director. She was born on August 24, 1977, in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Funke Akindele attended Ogun State Polytechnic (now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic) where she obtained an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Mass Communication. She later proceeded to the University of Lagos where she obtained a degree in Law (LLB).
In addition to her formal education, Funke Akindele has also undergone training in acting and filmmaking. She has attended various acting and filmmaking workshops both locally and internationally, including the Pan African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) in Burkina Faso and the New York Film Academy in the United States.

Funke Akindele got married to Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skillz, on August 23, 2016. JJC Skillz is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and record producer.
The couple had a private wedding ceremony in London, United Kingdom, which was attended by close family and friends. They have since been happily married and have welcomed children together.
Prior to her marriage to JJC Skillz, Funke Akindele was previously married to Kehinde Oloyede in May 2012, but the marriage ended in divorce in July 2013.
